Description

I understand that this is a once in a century storm and the NHDPW is "working around the clock to clean the city streets but why have they plowed the tiny block of Cottage between Linvingston and Orange but neglected the block between Whitney and Livingston. The methodology and strategy of the plowing in East Rock boggles me. Why plow one tiny block of a street yet not plow it completely. What are you going to do tomorrow after the rain freezes this all into a solid mass?

we shoveled our street/block ourselves & united with fellow neighbors!
with knowing the severity of the blizzard, the 34 inches of snowfall, the declaration of a state of emergency for Connecticut, assistance from the national guard, New York & New Jersey & only so much public works man power & equipment.....
maybe you could have done the same especially with the latest weather forecast conditions looming ahead?
just food for thought!

I was told that Cottage was partially cleared to allow an ambulance access to a house partway down Cottage where, it turns out, the patient died. If you walk around the city you see that much more major streets such as Orange, Prospect, etc are still hazardous even though they have been plowed. So have patience, the city is working extremely hard on many important issues.

I have a neighbor who had their vents covered up and is at 49 degrees over on Willow: I'm heading over there first! I have to do some freelance work for a client in the Cayman islands after that (they aren't quite in on the blizzard fun :D), but I'll try to sync up with you later.

The lower block of Cottage was plowed b/c of a medical emergency. Please be patient everyone. The Mayor has declared a driving ban anyway. Just chill out.
