Description

Most of our city trucks and plows are aging and falling apart, they have to be at least 25 years old. I suppose the theft of $900,000 that went on slowly for many years meant that this city couldn't afford to buy halfway decent equipment and now we're all stranded and frustrated. I weathered out this blizzard up in Harwinton where they know how to maintain roads and plow snow. The day after the storm there were three in a row, one behind the other plowing every street and little side road in Torrington and Harwinton. Why? Because they expect snow here and prepare for it well in advance, The roads were only wet the very next day! And there sits my hometown of Shelton, waiting with their hands up their butts for some help from outside sources and maybe the National Guard. Our streets are filled with pot holes all year and if they're repaired (if you can call it that) they're filled with a little patch. As a taxpayer I'm sick and tired of paying my taxes to a City that lets $900k be stolen under their noses and could care less that ill and elderly people are left stranded and dealing with this as best as they can. Taxpayers unite, and demand some services from this damned City!
