Description

I do not wish to appear ungrateful for the repaving projects in Redfield Subdivision. Several streets were in sore need of repair, and they are better. However, the paving project was substandard. Asphalt was applied atop the gutters, effectively reducing the curb height for both drainage and intersecting driveways.

In an apparent effort to remedy this error, the contractors came through a week or 10 days ago with grinders. These large trucks ground off the new asphalt at the curbs. They have torn up the new pavement, busted curbs, scored concrete driveways, and left asphalt debris everywhere. It's more substandard work.

It's nice to have local government. It would be nicer still if local government could capably perform its public works projects. In this case, they did not.

Since repaving is not really an option, can we get someone to come through to re-tar (and thus seal) the pavement that was ruined by the grinding, and get the contractor back to get the cinders cleaned up? This is a mess.
