I really don't want to knock hard working guys, so please do not think that this is what this post is about. It is about a much bigger issue. An issue with people at the helm of this town.

I had the opportunity to watch a payloader operator clear a couple streets today. I watched as this poor guy struggled to operate the machinery properly. He was having difficulty with some payloader tasks that should have been much easier to accomplish. I know just from my rural upbringing and experience with machinery that what I watched take many hours to complete (I actually still don't think they are done), should have just been about thirty minutes of work. The guy operating the payloader was so slow that the two plow trucks accompanying it had all their operators and extras standing around in the street with their trucks running idle just watching (a WHOLE OTHER issue that I see far too often with superiors' poor planning for these guys and other departments, as well).

I don't blame the payloader operator ONE BIT. I blame his superiors for not having him trained to a much higher degree than he is (if they trained him at all). It was utterly painful watching the progress being made combating the snow piles. I wanted to ask him to take a break and take over for him. These guys need better training and they shouldn't have to pay for it themselves.

Additionally, after having a talk with one of plow operators, whose truck was just sitting there burning fuel, waiting for the payloader, I realized that they are so unorganized at a higher level. These guys are "in the field" and don't even know their basic surroundings and the conditions they are in. It is an absolute disgrace. Where are these guys getting their information? Who is running the show? These guys are like rogue plowers. It is like they are kids with shovels that their parents threw outsaide and said "go shovel".

The guys and gals in the bunker need to step up. This snowstorm was another City Fail.
