That's a horrible deadly idea. Day and night, parked cars line both sides of 5th making it very hard to see children, dogs, or other pedestrians when they cross mid street, which they do all the time. For the same reason, it's already difficult to see oncoming traffic on 5th when crossing 5th on Ridge.
In fact, 25 MPH is already too high. It should be 15. 35 MPH will get someone killed.
If you want to go faster, take 7th or Main. That's what these larger streets are for.
Real bad idea. No one cares how fast you want to drive, how bad you want to avoid Broad and Main or how quickly you want to get home. Safety is of most importance in this neighborhood. And to that end a ticket has been opened to have a stop sign placed at either Ridge or Chesnut. Increasing the speed limit on 5th street is not an option.
If you want to go faster then in city move out west where the limits are higher, here 25 is the limit for city and small towns. Changing 5th to 35 will get way to many people killed.
So basically person who doesn't live here or pay lansdale property taxes wants to turn our streets into a more dangerous place so his/her commute is 2 minutes quicker.
