Why are the walking gates locked? I understand you want to deter drivers from cutting through, but you are making things very inconvenient for pedestrians as well.
I have family buried in the cemetery and have to walk all the way around to the main entrance to get in - so frustrating. And, then to go home, I have to walk back out the main entrance and up the big Highland hill w/2 small, tired children.
Aside from "visiting," my girlfriend and I like to walk our children in the cemetery because it is the only place where we can walk side-by-side with strollers without being in the middle of the road. It is such a pretty, peaceful place, where we can walk and chat without much interruption.
And in the same vein - what was the point of adding the walking gate at the top of Partridge Street only to have it locked as well??
It would be nice to have the gates open to the public. What's the point of having them locked? It doesn't seem to me that it serves any practical purpose. I'd like to see the gates opened as well.
I agree, I also don't see the point of having them locked. Please leave them open so walkers and visitors to the cemetery can enter and exit wherever is most convenient to them.
This gate appears to be open lately... now if we could just have a consistent policy applied to all the pedestrian gates!! The pedestrian gate at the intersection of Highland and Partridge is still closed...!
