To be clear can you only act on complaints Molly McGuire or is there someone in city employ who can recognize non compliance and act on it ?

Tax bills go to this address - BUT NO STAR - so is this the residence of the owners and if not where do the fines go? there are now so many cited properties on this website how does DGS go about doing them all immediately as the people who post this non compliance issue want.

Considering the new rules this year in Albany, the number of unshoveled sidewalks is worse than it has been in many years. What's going on??? Several Quail Street sidewalks are a disaster from New Scotland heading toward Madison. I've even noticed sidewalks covered with snow on city owned property, like Partridge from Woodlawn to Providence.

How could the city possibly fine anyone when they do not clear the walks they are responsible for? This includes bus stations and crosswalks. Two snowstorms into the winter and Albany cannot handle 4-5" of snow.

Thank you for your concern. Per ordinance section 323-21, the Department of General Services will inspect the property 24-hours after the end of the snowfall. If the property is found to be in violation the Department of General Services will correct the violation and impose a fine.

So then per ordinance section 323-21, DoGS is in violation because the snow has not been cleared and the fine has not been imposed. Sounds like Molly McGuire is a liar.

Perhaps a new AUTO RESPONSE should be used by the department of DGS. and if you notice there is a phone number for DGS - maybe calling might help ????

These online resources can be very useful, but I am so sick of reading these nasty comments, like "J" calling Molly a liar. Could we be civil, and act as if we were face to face with people, and just get to the point?

There is a fantastic way to not get called a liar. Don't lie. When our city workers try that it will work wonders in the getting called a liar department.

there are 19 properties on See click fix alone on the snow and ice removal . We dont know how many other properties are being called into the city on the 2489 line. perhaps J might want to email Molly directly and get a handle on how the city is responding to the private property snow removal situation?

Here's all I need to know. Molly says it is taken care of within 24 hours. It has not been taken care of and it is well over 24 hours.

Leslie, I think some of the properties that are not cleared actually belong to the city. At least I know many that were torn down and I assume taken over by the city are seldom cleared of snow.
