Here is a link to figure out when your street sweeping occurs. BUT I agree that posted signs solve 2 huge issues here in our city. 1. Makes sure the trash does not enter drains. 2. Makes sure that cars parked get ticketed if they aren't moved in time.

Well, it's a high ideal to move cars on any day of the week because modern times has not figured out how to deal with the glut of cars in our urban centers. So where to you move your car to that is within walking distance? Who wants MORE cars om their street? I guess you'll just have to put up with the trash and flooding streets......

Every major city that does street sweeping has signs posted for day/times that the sweeping will be done. Most have a parking officer going in front of the sweeper writing tickets for those parked in the way of the sweeper during those designated times.

Any word on signage? Even if you do post parking restrictions, who will enforce it? An officer or parking enforcement will have to check the street on that morning to give tickets for not moving on cleaning days. Don’t see that happening. Does the City have the resources?

Currently there is no plan to sign the remaining streets in the city regarding street sweeping days, there is information that will be provided in utility billing and on the city's website. You are correct in that we have a shortage of enforcement capability, the downtown area now has parking enforcement but that is the only area as of today. PD does do some when called, but it is typically one of the lowest priorities in terms of response.

I'm working with PW Maintenance to come up with some type of advisory sign to help residents know when their area has street cleaning.

Just to reiterate, many people in some neighborhoods do not have off street parking available to them. Some senior citizens would have difficulty moving their cars and making the return journey home and then back to their cars after the sweeper passes. If your neighborhood has problems with litter on the streets then you are probably living in one of those more difficult areas. So look at the problem as one of variabilities. Are enough cars out of the way during working hours that the street gets mostly swept? Do we want to waste public resources just to satisfy those who want the best at any expense? Vallejo has a major problem with trash dumping on its streets in some areas and has not found a way to mitigate that problem. So let's be a bit more circumspect about this issue.

I’d be happy with just the abandoned, unregistered & unlicensed vehicles moved/towed, they are the main culprit here at least.

One of these has already been installed and the other is awaiting usa clearance. I'm sure you noticed it though.
As for the abandoned vehicles, those are not a maintenance issue and a report should be filed with VPD.

Two signs for all of Vallejo? Are we talking about the same question? Everybody wants signage on their street stating when street sweeping will occur and to not park your vehicle there. I haven’t noticed the one sign mentioned, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. But I will go look.

Seems like a typhoon in a tea kettle. I don't need sweeping schedule signs on my street. I live in a working class neighborhood so the streets are mostly automobile free during working hours.

Drove around the block and don’t see the sign at all. This must have been attached to the wrong issue. Especially since one of the previous comments was “there are no plans/resources for street sweeping signs at this time”.

At this time, only the Downtown area has been signed regarding street sweeping days. There are no immediate plans to sign the remaining city streets due to budget constraints.

Vallejo is not awash in surplus funds if you didn't notice. Where does the money go, what little there is? I don't think "No Parking on Street Sweeping Days" is atop the hit parade. Suffer on.....
