  Status? Please stop passing the ball on this and address it. This bike has been vandalized. It has been chained to the bike rack for months, making the bike rack useless. This is similar to the City's inability to remove newspaper racks that have been vandalized and abandoned for years. Could the responsible manager please report?

  Could the responsible manager please post here what the Alameda city policy is regarding removing abandoned bikes locked to city racks? This is effectively illegal dumping, chained to a public bike rack and blocking public access to the bike rack and the public right of way. If someone left a stove chained in that spot, I assume the city would send out ACI, with bolt cutters, and have it removed within two days. (Thanks, Public Works, for being so quick to get dumped items removed from public property!)
