Contrary to popular belief, we don't exceed the speed limits when removing snow from roadways. The sparks are created from dragging a hardened metal blade, "plow" across the asphalt. As such sparks are seen from the abrasive surface wearing on the hardened blades. When snow reaches a depth of more than 4-6 inches we do need to bump our speeds up slightly to get the snow off the roadways and onto the extension. Our large trucks with their big diesel engines, along with the dragging blade can sound like we are moving faster than we actually are.

Just giving you a heads up Mr. Marion. I let it go the first couple times, then decided to call it to your attention. This was after several other folks in my neighborhood voiced concern -- my children are long past the days of building snowmen, their are alot of young families in our subdivision, I would hate to see one of them get hurt.
