Description

Frequently vehicles attempt to create a shortcut by crossing from the short block of N street NW between Corregidor and 15th st over the many lanes of 15th st one way traffic to continue on N street towards 14th street. As a pedestrian walking south on 15th street I often have to wait or run to avoid being hit by drivers only watching for a let up in 15th street traffic and not paying attention to pedestrians passing through the crosswalk. A sign from that vantage point alerting drivers to watch for pedestrians is needed, at a mimimum. Ideally, such a short cut would not be allowed- drivers should be required to use Rhode Island Ave or Massachusetts to cross over to 14th street. Or, access to N street between 14th and 15th should only be allowed via a right turn from 15th street - not the other side of N street.
