It should be a two lane road (not 4 lane) with 30 mph speed limit (not 45) with generous shoulders for bikers and joggers. The town of Wellesley should redesign it.

I don't think there is anything that can be done to slow cars down on this stretch of road. Cars traveling west are so frustrated after having to crawl through Wellesley with all the double parkers and jaywalkers they hit the gas as soon as they pass Weston road. The numerous pot holes, frost heave bumps and crappy road conditions do nothing to deter them. At this time of year on nice days, the runners training for the marathon ignore the sidewalk and run in the middle of the lanes, that slows them down, but just a bit .
