Considering the amount of crime that has been occurring in the immediate area around the Amtrak pedestrian bridge - which is now itself a frequent loitering spot for scoping out the next victims to mug - it would seem appropriate to step up policing and surveillance activities on the bridge. Blanketing the walkway and nearby area with security cameras and plenty of bright lighting would go a long way towards creating a safer environment to cross. Some of the code blue emergency distress stations with loud alarms could also be useful.
