Thank you for submitting your concern to the Town of Belleair. Staff has been alerted to the outage and will be out to investigate the light this week.
Thank you for reporting your concern to the Town of Belleair. We are pleased to advise you that this issue has now been closed. After investigating this light, staff has identified it will need new conduit and wiring. An external contractor will be brought in for repairs. The conduit will be repaired within three to four weeks.
There are other lights out and dim in addition to the 15 I reported while on a walk. Some of those lights were out last time I reported them and was told later the problems were resolved. They were not. Some of the same lights reported before are still out. Is someone able to do a drive at night to check all the lights or should I do it and let you know? If you are hiring someone to do repairs, can we get to 100%?
I appreciate you letting us know of the most recent light outages throughout Town.
All of the lights that were previously submitted for repair were repaired and operating at that time. Since then, other parts of the lighting system have gone bad and caused the most recent string of outages. We are doing our best to get all of the lights up and functioning as quickly as possibly, however when working with aged components it makes it difficult at times.
I personally do periodic checks of the street lights after hours, to check on repairs and look for other light outages.
