I believe this map item was placed incorrectly, as it does not match the description.

According to Fairfax County's website, "virtually all roads in Fairfax County are maintained by VDOT. " VDOT’s Highway Helpline can be reached by calling 1-800-367-7623, or you can submit an online work request here: http://www.virginiadot.org/travel/citizen.asp

This item should not be closed unless it has been fixed, even if it is mapped wrong.

Does someone know the correct location? I would be happy to move the place-marker.

I read in the Washington Post newspaper a couple of months ago that Fairfax Co. was going to use jail inmates to help clean-up the highways. Where are they? They haven't been in the Bailey's Crossroads area or near So. George Mason Drive and Rt. 7 around the Skyline Condominiums and rental apartments. The trash is awful as well as the cigarette butts and knee high weeds along the medians, and in the lot next to the Chili's Restaurant. This problem has not been resolved!!!!!

During the summer I noticed the same problem, extending along Seminary Road. There are still some less than attractive areas, but there was at least one effort to cut the median weeds down at the end of the summer.

I know South George Mason Drive and RT.#7 is in Fairfax County. The other side of Rt.7 and South George Mason Drive is in Arlington. I live on the Fairfax County side and I am the one who reported the cigarette butts and trash strewn islands and roads. Something has to be done. I am tired of seeing all this trash along this area. VDOT doesn't seem to care.

Why is the trash never picked up along RT.#7, Fairfax County, Bailey's Crossroads to the Alexandria line near and past Skyline Plaza Condominiums and along So. George Mason Drive in front of all the Skyline Condominiums and strip shopping mall. This area is becoming quite an eyesore. Don't we pay enough taxes to have this taken care of??????

I thought the squeeky wheel got the grease, but, evidentally not. Still a lot of trash and cigarette butts at the intersection of So. George Mason Drive and Rt.#7 going West. And, going East towards Alexandria, a lot of trash along the sidewalks. I would like to know why Fairfax County does not take care of these issues on a regular basis????????
