Description
We as tax paying residents of Springfield, Delaware County, DO NOT WANT BILLBOARDS...It's an EYE SORE, and dangerous..we have enough accidents on this road..Tell the person who wants these to put them on HIS PROPERTY!!! PLUS, our homes will depreciate!! I love the lawyer's comments about when I go out in front of my house to get the newspaper if I can see the signs at the Slack's shopping center..I DO NOT WANT TO SEE A GIANT LIT UP UGLY BAD @#$% BILL BOARD WHEN I GET MY NEWSPAPER..!!!

Just because someone doesn't like the look of them, that doesn't mean we sould ban them.

Is it greedy to want to feed your family, is it greedy to want a better life. just because you don't want it, then it's no good right? Who are you to say what I can do or not down with my property? I also live here and I think it's a graet idea.
How about I tell you what to do with your house, would you like that?

I have property along the pike and I am a resident. I think the signs are a good idea to generate revenue. They are not a safety issue as you seem to think.
Please respect others view in this matter.

When you tell someone to "stop cyrying" they don't normally respond in the best fashion. My apologies if you were being serious. (FYI - Itdoes not come across as serious with the terse statements).
As a resident I definitely see a safety concern, especially with digital "BB's". Its like putting a TV on the side of the road. On a straight empty highway perhaps they make more sense as they refocus people. On a local highway with people turning in every direction, pedestrians all around - More billboards just aren't the answer - Forget the fact that many see them as clutter. Safety alone is my concern, especially with a young child in my car.
But hey, why stop at BBs? Let's wrap school buses in ads, and why not just start wrapping entire buildings in ads? Hell, I am sure you can get someone to manufacture a film that covers brick and mortar just like a Septa bus (assuming it does not exist already).
Its a slippery slope and again, I will not shop at any establishment that happens to advertise on any of the new signs if they go up. My $.02.

See if you had a billboard advertizing furniture you would know where to shop.
You can go to the meeting if you want but from what I hear it a done deal. you can thank your local politicians for that.
I'll be at the meeting too with an army of lawers.

Signman: you need a teacher, not a lawyer.

Why not be the first one to rent some space on one of the shiny new BB.

Read this article Sign man and tell me with your heart, not your wallet that these BBs are not a safety issue (which eben Clear Channel has admitted to as a distraction)...

Stop wasting taxpayer money and just put them up.

Money is not the main issue when you talk about safety. Baltimore Pike cuts through a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood. Stop trying to make it the next 69th street already! These signs will RAISE my tax dollars as people who fear safety will avoid the pike, stop shopping there, thus lowering the tax base for the township. BIG is a Town Killer! Take your blinders off. I don't hate signs, I just hate them in this area...
If they allow signs on the Blue Rt one day I hope your competitor gets the contract and puts you out of business. (Yes I am assuming you are part of BIG based on your comments)

If the signs go up on the pike I will do my shopping elsewhere. Good luck signman, look at 69th street now...It used to be the epi-center of business, now it does a fraction of the business it used to.
You are completely out of your mind if you think this will help local business.

No really...You underestimate people.
And if that anonymous person can't wait to see a Wawa billboard, they need to get a life.

You can thank all of our crooked springfield politicians for that.
Don't worry you will get used to them.

I do not want my city looking like Atlantic City, NJ. If I did I would move there. You may want to take a course in economics, I feel you need some education?

The billboards will happen. The are no laws about putting them up. the township officals should have seen this coming and taken steps to prevent it, but they did nothing. BIG has the money to continue this until it becomes a reality. And It will Happen. Please don't blame the businesses for putting them up because most of them lease the property, so you will be hurting the wrong people.
The people you can thank for this are the local politicans, they had the chance to prevent this and did nothing.
Hey when the billboards go up you can thank them by putting it on a billboard. LOL.
