I agree that the area is a mess. What, if any effect would there be if an alternate entrance was put by bigy at the turnpike entrance/exit? Just a thought.

An exit by the turnpike wouldn't help. It would still contribute to the traffic on that Montgomery/Granby Rd mess. That plaza needs to be entered from the Drive using those lights. The traffic exiting from that back entrance "block the box" and the two inside lanes with their stupidity. That needs to be rectified by closing that exit. It's the only solution to some of that major mess. If you want to shop there what's the problem using the Drive entrance?????

It looks like nothing is going to be done about this issue. This is not the only issue I've reported and nothing has been done about that one either. I guess it's a waste of time to report any traffic issues because no one does anything about them anyhow. Just like the boxes painted on Montgomery St.......those are a big joke. The only traffic that actually pays attention to them is the ones on the main road. The vehicles coming from that Big Y entrance pull out right over those boxes and block the two right lanes............how ridiculous!!!!!! DON'T BLOCK THE BOX means nothing to most drivers so why bother painting those stupid things on the roads.

Well it definitely looks like I was right about nothing being done about the Montgomery St/ Granby Rd traffic mess. I really don't think anyone has any ideas what to do about that intersection, especially that entrance to and from the Big Y/ BJ's entrance.

Another issue about this intersection is the cars exiting from the Big Y, BJ's area think it's ok for them to "Block the Box" and they end up blocking both inside lanes. The two right lanes are void of cars but no one can get by to use either of them because of those cars.

I honestly believe no one is going to do anything about that intersection. Unless you close off some of the entrances to that area the situation will never be remedied. There are too many businesses that exit and enter in that area.

They should add 10 seconds to that green light

And enforce the BOX.

I am want to leave this problem open because as far as I can see nothings been done. It's still a big disaster at that intersection. The traffic coming out that back entrance onto Montgomery St. is still screwing up the traffic flow on Montgomery St. Cars are constantly pulling out over the box and blocking the two inside lanes keeping traffic from utilizing them so there's major congestion.

I don't feel anything will ever be done about the mess at that intersection.

I don't believe there's anyone out there that can fix that disaster of an intersection. It seems like no one can come up with a good solution. There really is only one fix for that that would help but no one wants to consider it. The entrance between the turnpike and the Sunoco station needs to be blocked off and the entrance from Memorial Drive needs to be the only entrance into that store area. The other set of stores after the turnpike only have an entrance from Memorial Drive........no problem. What's wrong with that same scenario for the stores in that area??? It would at least alleviate some of the massive congestion in that area which is really disgusting to drive through and those stupid boxes painted on the road don't help. Someone needs to open their eyes and see something needs to be done before someone is killed there.

how about this idea. block the borys/sunoco entrance. make a new entrance with a light at rear of Big Y where Turnpike access road splits. put a light at turnpike rd and Montgomery st.
a bonus would be to get access through BJ's/Stop and Shop and the light on Memorial dr. good luck with that.

The city will do nothing about this issue. In my opinion they should have taken the gas station (big y now) by imminent domain. They could have made some improvements to that area instead of allowing another business to add to the traffic problems....

Not sure they can close that back entrance as there are other entrances using that back road such as Charter, the car dealership, etc. I agree that exit is a traffic mess but not sure they can really close off that entrance/exit

Every business would have to depend on the Memorial Dr. entrance, which would be the logical solution since the Montgomery entrance is way too congested and closing that entrance/exit would alleviate a big part of that problem. Most of the problem at that intersection is from that entrance/exit area.
