The Ray's Electric crew installing the sidewalk bulbouts on the west side of Grand at Elita has closed the sidewalk and created a cone-separated bike path in the existing bike lane, both in conflict with Oakland's guidance for construction traffic controls, which indicate that one of the travel lanes should have been closed and converted to maintain separate bike and pedestrian facilities, and that any pedestrian pathway routed on-street should be separated by water-filled barriers at minimum. Please follow up with the contractor so that the bike/ped construction access is corrected here, as well as for all future projects.
