New "no parking" sign on the Southeast side of Florida Ave. NW, across from Champlain is confusing. Can you or can't you park there? Tickets are given out only by certain parking officials. Please put out clear signage.

Thanks. I’m alerting DDOT to help clear up the confusion.

This continues to be a problem.
After 2-1/2 years of parking here, I received 4 tickets in a span of about 2 weeks with no warning that the enforcement has changed. The signs continue to be confusing, and as mentioned above, different enforcement officers seem to have different ideas of what's going on.
You can see on Google street maps what the signs used to look like. There was no street cleaning in that section and four cars could legally park there. This link will take you to the left most sign on the strip in question: http://j.mp/cHzPL4
At this point, the signs are confusing and are being construed by some officers as meaning that it's illegal to park there ever. Three of the tickets that I personally received are for street cleaning, which the area is not signed for and has not been enforced for at least 2-1/2 years (incidentally, I'm not parking there anymore at all - I got three of them because the street cleaning tickets are mailed, and while the first was en route, I continued to park there unaware of the enforcement change).
Thank you,
Wayne

I've added a photograph to show the parking signage before the streetlight post replacement. In it, you can clearly see the sign that allows for parking on this stretch of Florida Ave. You can also see that there are no signs indicated a designated street cleaning time. I think it's the fact that this sign was not attached to the new streetlight post that is causing the confusion.
Until the streetlight post change, I parked here for nearly two and a half years without any problems. In the past month, I've gotten four tickets for parking here - 3 for during street cleaning periods and one for parking illegally. The ticket for parking illegally was issued at 10pm at night by an MPD officer and the street cleaning tickets were issued from a street cleaner camera.
Neighbors have reported seeing an entire team of MPD officers going directly to this stretch of Florida Avenue late at night and ticketing everyone who is parked there.
I think it's worth noting that Parking Enforcement does not ticket anyone for parking in this area during any time. This leads me to believe that DPW and MPD are taking advantage of a missing sign to make some money off vehicle owners.
Can we have the sign replaced please?

Heya. This is still a problem, and to rub salt in my wound - after 4 months of waiting for adjudication on the 4 tickets I received in 2 weeks after this random change in enforcement, only 3 of them were dismissed.
Just to be clear - the signage issue has not been clarified, people park there every day and don't seem to get ticketed, and yet when I parked there 4 months ago, I got a ticket for parking in a no parking zone that I have to pay? It makes no sense.
Please do what you can to rectify this.
I am going to appeal this decision. Please tell me what else I can do to encourage this issue to be resolved more quickly.
Thank you,
Wayne
