Description

I have a 13 pound terrier that I walk on a leash as required by code on a daily basis around Little John Park. Today, 2-11-18, there were many small children around in and around the play area and a baseball game. I was shocked to see a number of dog owners with their large dogs off leash to play ball with them on the field. This is not the first time I've complained and seen the large dogs off leash as I have called the after hours number already.
I now have to walk my small dog on the sidewalk around the park due to these off leash dogs and concerned that with so many dogs loose that they may hurt one of the children.
Is it possible for the City or Park and Rec to post notices for dog owner to keep dogs on leash at all times or have someone from Park and Rec monitor the park on regular basis or have police patrol there? These dog owners generally get to the park with their big dogs on weekends and when they get off work from 4pm until it gets dark.
Thank you
Concerned dog owner in the neighborhood
