Street (North-South) meet at a slightly jogged 4-way intersection. When
the light turns green for drivers going North or South, the drivers
turning east off Oak and the drivers turning west off Christina must
cross each other. Both sets of drivers are making left turns, so neither

Has the town recently evaluated the timing issues at this intersection?
Does anyone here have a contact there who they could call, and see if any reports have been done about this? If not, I'm willing to check in and see.

I set up alerts for Mayor Cohen and two of his staff members--Maureen Grimaldi and Jeremy Solomon. They should receive email alerts now regarding issues in the area.
Has there been any progress on this issue?

At some point in the near future, the City of Newton is supposed to take control/ownership of Needham Street back from the state of MA. I'm not quite sure when that's supposed to happen - maybe someone from city hall can chirp in here?
Hopefully, once that happens, they (the city) can finally do something about this intersection, as well as the traffic flow on the rest of the Needham Street. Re-painting the lane lines would be a good first project.
