Description
Asphalt surface on Bligh Court and north end of Springridge cul-de-sacs are both deteriorating. Springridge is in worse shape with broken-up pavement, puddles and potholes. Bligh Court approach to that cul-de-sac has appreciable settling on one side. Bligh Court cul-de-sac surface has begun cracking in past year or so as well.
Is the city able to perform maintenance on these public roads in a timely manner or are residents expected to take care of this on their own before further deterioration occurs? Perhaps we need to be sealing the cracks ourselves? Is there any sort of permitting required for sealing cracks on a public street? Should residents be pressure washing moss off the roadway to extend pavement life? Does pressure washing cause more harm than benefit?
This asphalt is likely about 30 years old and doesn't appear to have had any crack-sealing or other maintenance performed to it. Is that about the end of the expected lifespan for these roads?
