I'm just wondering if these could belong to people who haven't been riding because of winter. I'd just hate for someone's non-abandoned bike to be removed without their ok... I don't have a solution, just a concern.

The bike racks at the garage aren't a public long term storage area. They're for commuters to the area to lock their bikes for a few hours or even a few days if they must. As a frequent biker, I've seen the same dilapidated bikes every day for months. If these were cars taking spots on the sidewalk, they would most certainly have been towed by now.

Is anything being done about this? Again last night at around 11 there was no bike parking.

Shouldn't these bikes be tagged and eventually removed? Or is this indeed meant to be a long-term bike storage area? Nothing has been done since the issue was reported on Feb 22, 2018, yet abandoned bikes have been removed from other areas.

Unused bikes left or stored in the garage fill up the racks so no one else can use them. Public Works is supposed to put a warning tag on the bike and wait a week or so before confiscation, so people can rescue their bike. At least get rid of the worst of them.

GM, I will be visiting this location and tagging bicycles as needed, please be advised that we have had an overwhelming list of abandon bicycles and of course we have had to set priority with snow matters, seeing that snow is over, and we now have bike storage availability we will focus more on spring clean up, sorry to inconvenience you, and we will stay on top of this
