huge depression - it was obviously filled in before, but the asphalt is collapsing, it looks like a sinkhole-in-the-making

Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Thanks Edge City. I am finding that the PWD call center is either not forwarding to other depts and other agencies or does not know how to.

This issue was marked closed by the City, but nothing was done; the giant hole is still in the middle of the street. I understand that maintenance costs money, but so do lawsuits when an uneven road surface causes damage to passing vehicles.

Submit complaints about potholes to PWD call center 615-5566 and this is all you will get the auto response. Call 238-3651 or 615-5566 and rattle some chains. Its there job.
