Hi Christina. Thank you for your response. The only reason why I reported this on See Click Fix, was because the other options that you suggested do not respond. When the 648-4682 is called to report an abandoned vehicle, the recording advises that it will be "investigated" in 30 days. But months later the abandoned vehicle that I reported is still at the same location. The same thing happens with the website, beside being very inconvenient with having to write down the license #, location and description of the abandoned vehicle, and then report it to the website. Again, months later, the reported vehicle is still at the location. Of these 3 options that are available to citizens (See Click Fix; Phone number; or website), which one is the quickest and will be handled in a timely manner?
Great question all abandoned vehicles are handled by Traffic. I used to go out and try and assist traffic with abandoned vehicles when my work load was lighter but no longer have the availability due to a heavier work load. SeeClickFix is not monitored by traffic so reporting on SCF is not going to get the issue resolved. Traffic intakes their complaints via the abandoned vehicle hotline at 707-648-4682 or via the website. There are currently 2 part time cadets assigned to all the abandoned vehicles throughout the City which is why it takes some time for the vehicles to be addressed with hundreds being reported weekly. Yesterday we did a City wide tow sweep so hopefully the list will be caught up soon.
If the vehicle is found to be stolen it will be recovered. We are only able to determine if it is stolen prior to going out there if a license plate is provided.
