Description
The City removed the traffic signals that went over the street and the crossing street light. These has been there for decades for very sound reason. Now, there is no traffic light nor any crosswalk light between Telegraph and Lahser. As the City planners know, (mentioned at meetings), the traffic on Grand River is well over the speed limit - those lights had slowed it down. When cars are parked in front of the post office or in front of the funeral home at Northrop (very often the case) whomever pulls off Northrop or McIntyre onto Grand River can not see the oncoming traffic. Previously people could wait til the traffic light at McIntyre turned red when they could not see the oncoming. The kids walking across Grand River after school (the busiest time on Grand River), have no cross walk and nothing that slows the traffic down like the street light at McIntyre had. While the City has plans for Grand River - what year is that going to be? And is there going to be funding for this? Why should this remain a hazard until when - and if - those plans are completed?
