The irresponsible people who accompany these dogs are the real problem. I have witnessed people just stand there and watch their dog poop at the waters edge and make zero attempt to clean it up. These people are the reason we can't have nice things. It would be nice if us responsible dog owners could have a portion of the beach to let our dogs swim and frolic in the waters AFTER they have been walked and properly curbed (cleaned up after) to relieve themselves first. This evening I saw a young couple watch their dog poop next to the baseball field and just walked entered the dog park when it was done. PLENTY of pooper bags available, but too low life to clean up after their pet.

Yes, necessary action would be to start handing out tickets for not abiding by a leash law, they do it in California!

As the parent of 2 dogs, I hate to see how some pet parents let their dogs poop wherever & just leave it. Disgusting.... enforce the law & fine them.

I'm a big fan of the Tampa Bay Estuary Program and their continuing efforts to restore and protect Tampa Bay. So its extremely fustrating to me that the City of St. Petersburg continues to dodge this issue. The reassignment of this See Click Fix request to Pinellas County Animal Services is just another example of this.
