The owners built a "temporary" quonset hut-type structure in the back yard. It is made out of wood with some kind of aluminum sheets on the sides, and just a tarp covering the "roof". Their plan was to use this structure as a temporary storage so they could tear down and rebuild the garage. This hut went up at least 5 yrs ago, and has invited rats to live underneath the structure (since there is no proper foundation or rat wall). We have since had problems with rats in our garage (they have chewed thru "rodent-proof" garage door seals), and see them boldly come into our yard to eat the spillage from the bird & squirrel feeders. My dog has killed a few, which worries me. I don't want him ending up with any rodent-transmitted diseases. The back yard also is FULL of dog crap, as they have two dogs, and rarely clean up the poop. His back yard butts up to my driveway, so we have to see and smell the piles of crap all the time. Also, the view out my kitchen window is of that junky looking hut, which is unpleasant. The people themselves are nice...they just need to clean up the back yard, pull down that monstrosity, and pick up their dog's poop!!
