If I had water in my basement, I would pump it out as fast as I can to the sewer in the street. Where else are these people supposed to pump it? It is very dangerous to have water in your basement. Very curious to find out the answer the City is going to give you. Is there a State Law regarding this? If you have water in your basement and had to call the fire department they would pump it out to the street. Be a nice neighbor and give the people a break. No one enjoys having water in their basement.

That’s all well and godd when it doesn’t freeze into a sheet if ice in a downhill street. Use common sense.

And its not like it runs down the street into a sewer drain. Because it doesn’t. It collects in the dirt creating a cesspool of muddy water

Well what is the solution? You want them to leave the water in their basement until it gets warm outside?

Direct the flow into a sewer drain or the opposite side of the street closer to their own house. It’s convenient for them to pump it away from their house but inconvenient for the rest. Just use common sense.

The owner will be contacted and instructed to stop pumping water into the street.

The owner has complied with the order to not pump water.
