Add this derelict house to the other yellow house on Hartnett that has been vacant for 20 years and is crumbling down, and the 2 burnt out houses on Barat. Another house for druggies to get into and hide and destroy.
I have had a multi-year legal battle trying to get the tenant out of there. The Casenet records are listed below, including the lastest one which was just filed. That is my 4th eviction against her. Now that the city has also taken action against her, I don't think there's any way she will be able to get back in. I'm sorry this has been such a problem, but once we get past the court date and I can regain possession of the house, we will get everything cleaned up. In the meanwhile, there is very little I can do because of the legal issue at hand.
Really? What's stopping you from addressing the trash issues? The deplorable conditions of that 'DUMP' didn't happen overnight! Why aren't you over there cleaning the front yard up at a minimum? BS excuses!
Steven, apparently you have never been a landlord. First of all, if you file an eviction, and they come up with the money, they get to stay. Second, if you are in the middle of litigation with somebody, you don't come up in their yard and do stuff. My lawyer said if I've filed suit, stay away unless it's an emergency.
And in any case, it's not as though I am going to go by every house, every day, and see if they are keeping things tidy. Do you drive by all your customer's houses to look at their cars once a week, to make sure everything still looks right?
Presumably, I am renting to adults. Obviously, some adults are less responsible than others, though. For example, somebody with a business might decide that they can put junk from their business on a public sidewalk whenever they need the space, forcing pedestrians into the street. But I digress.
Bottom line, this has been a horrible tenant. She is going to cost me a lot of money in the end, because the inside of the house is a disgusting mess. But whether a tenant is great or horrible, I have to follow the law. Some people think they don't have to follow the law, but it catches up with you sooner or later, doesn't it, Steven?
Mario, this house isn't abandoned. We had a horrible tenant. I believe that she is gone for the last time, as it is now not just me that is kicking her out, but also the city. Once I get legal possession of the home, you'll see a lot of improvements. It's a nice house, on a great block, and we expect the next tenant will be a good one, just like the tenants we had before the current one. Please be patient as the current court case is resolved.

Hey Steven, what do you think it does for home values when there's an unfenced lot full of wrecked cars spilling out onto the sidewalk, body parts on sawhorses blocking the sidewalk on a nice day, and sometimes even a golf cart parked on the sidewalk? Of course, since you live in St. Peters, it is funny to hear you griping about a home in a neighborhood where you have nothing.

I will clean up after my bad tenant, as soon as I am legally able to do so. And long after I've done that, your business will still be illegally using the sidewalk and have a lot strewn with junk cars. What do you suppose St. Peters would do if you were drying car parts out on the sidewalk there?

No excuses, Hewkin. I'm going to take care of this as soon as I am legally able to do so. Now, what are you going to do about the unsightly mess around your business?

Really, Steven? We'll see about that. I'm pretty sure there is an ordinance prohibited you from setting up sawhorses on the sidewalk and sitting body parts out there to dry. I'm also pretty sure there's an ordinance prohibiting individuals from putting their own special flags on utility poles, as you have done. If there is not such an ordinance, then perhaps we'll put a Black Lives Matter flag on the pole in front of your business. Sound good?
Stay focused Nick! You're supposed to be over there cleaning up your DUMP! I can only imagine how much work that shack's going to need before it passes inspection. I guess your glass house is losing its charm?
I find it rather sad and disturbing for supposed adults to abuse this useful forum provided by the City to air their personal grievances with each other (and, by extension, all those who wish to use this service for its intended purpose). Please just report your concern in a constructive manner and wait for the City's response. Save your childish, personal attacks for some other forum, like Twitter. Better yet, just keep them between yourselves. Thank you.
Nick, don’t know how else to get a message to you. But, when driving by your empty house, I have seen a dog twice now inside the picture window. It looks real to me. I don’t think it’s a stuffed animal. Hope he hasn’t been abandoned in that house. Please check on him.

Cat, pit-bull dog, and occupant taken into custody on 4/8/18. Landlord is now free to sanitize inside of house, and work on exterior violations. Legally, there is no excuse to stay away.
Incorrect. I still have to go to Clayton, and register for a sheriff's execution before I can legally enter the house. However, despite it being borderline legally, I have been removing and disposing of items in the yard already.
I will be going on Monday to put in for an execution. This will allow me to legally change the locks on the house. Thank you for keeping an eye on things.
The sheriff has come and the locks are changed. If you see anyone at the house, and they doing anything except putting stuff in the dumpster, please call 911. I will press trespassing charges against any unauthorized entry. I am leaving the sheriff's notice on the door for now. Please let the police department know about this as well.
Walked by there today - looks worse. The grass has been cut on occasion, but not trimmed (weeds continue to grow around edges). Many big branches along and on sidewalk. I know it takes time for a landlord to clean up and make repairs, but have seen very little progress so far.
Wow, that's too bad. Sorry to hear...
I lost 2 lbs Saturday morning cutting my grass with the heat. Why is it so hard for people to cut their grass in this town?
The grass has all been cut, and the branches that fell during the storm last week were all removed. If there are additional ones from the latest storm, they will be removed today. I had large amounts of tree limbs to cut and haul from other houses, and it has been painfully hot, so it has taken a few days to get to them all.
And the grass HAS been regularly mowed at this house. The house next door, at 237, was knee high weeds in the front yard when I was over there last week, and there is a forest of poison ivy and other weeds growing from their side of the fence into my yard. When you're allergic to poison ivy, and the neighbor has a serious infestation constantly growing into your yard, that makes it hard.
