This one has been reported on 100-200 block of Carolina St. He seems to move back and forth. Be careful he is not friendly and will threaten you if you are taking pictures of his motorhome.
It is obvious that trying to control these mobile squatters using an agency that has very few inspectors, and only works 8:30-to-5 is never going to work. The squatters just move a few blocks and effectively disappear. Only our police department, patrolling all of our streets, 24/7 (and if they aren't, why not) can track them, control them, and eventually drive them out of our city. Without VPD cooperation, we cannot have real law enforcement in Vallejo.
Besides, they will just change the issue to “Abandoned vehicle on public street”. This gives the false impression that camping in motor homes on the street is not that big of a problem, and when we try to redirect resources or funding to enforce it won’t look justified or needed.
Municipal city code 8.4 0.120. Use or occupancy of motor vehicles for living purposes prohibited. It is unlawful for any person or persons to occupy or use any motor vehicle for living purposes upon any street, alley, lane, Highway, municipal offstreet parking lot or other public space, or upon any lot, peace, parcel or tract of land within the city except as provided in chapter 7.96 of the Vallejo municipal code.
Thanks!
