i'm glad i'm not the only one who recognizes this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do to help fix this issue? my concern is that the people who don't pick up after their dog may not be visitng this site to see the issue. is there another way we can get the message across to others that don't frequent this site?

I think the dog poop problem is very widespread in the neighborhood. On Montrose Street between 21st and 22nd there is a constant stream of baggies of dog poop left all over the sidewalk in front of people's homes and front steps. Why on earth would people take the step to pick up the dog poop, but then ditch your baggie on the street instead of throwing it in a trashcan! I think this neighborhood would benefit from more trashcans so their dog crap bags aren't tossed on the street.

I sometimes do that-- stash it in a corner of my stoop until the next walk when I put it in an outdoor can. You think I want to bring it in and put it in my kitchen trash? But yes, having more outdoor cans is the answer.

(Of course that leads to a host of new problems, like household trash in those cans. The cans in front of Naval Square are often filled to the brim of obvious household garbage.)

if there were more trash cans this may help the issue. but the people who don't even bother to put the poop in a baggie are the big problem.
can we lobby for moe trashcans? go to sosna meetings to raise the issue? i'm sure this isnt the first time this problem has been brought up.
