  Before the light at Ford St, pedestrians took their life into their hands every time they tried to cross... now it's a little safer.

  Yes, I have a solution. I’ve been navigating this triangle for 39 years, and never had any real problems with it until all this new traffic control was installed. I agree the situation now is a disgrace, and also agree that pedestrian safety used to be very minimal. I suggest going back to the former system and add in specific pedestrian controls to serve the occasional walkers.

  And how do you propose that cars turn left off 29th onto Ford St? It will be virtually impossible with the stream of cars coming from Alameda.

  You do realize that all of the cars that used to go up Fruitvale Ave will now be going down Ford St so they can get to Fruitvale Ave.

  Sorry for the delayed response to your question, just got back from the deep woods. I propose to remove the light controls and return the triangle to its former, rather chaotic but continuously flowing state. A No Left Turn sign has always been placed at the foot of the 29th Ave overpass. One turned right and went around the triangle to enter Jingletown, and then Ford St. at Glasscock. Took a quick minute, but worth it when considering the present state of almost permanent parking lot around there.

  Nice to hear what the folks from Alameda would like. Those of us in the neighborhood here in Oakland think it should be a little different.

  Also in case you don't realize it all the traffic that used to go up Fruitvale will be coming through our neighborhood... get stop signs in while we can! That's the reason the stop light is there. If you actually lived here and cared about the 'hood you would know this.

  First, if my comment of 3/30/18 had been read carefully enough, no one would have thought I was a folk from Alameda. 39 years in Jingletown. I do care about the "hood" as much as anyone, and thought I was engaged in a problem-solving conversation. I see now that this is leading nowhere, so, bye!
