Description
The new traffic control lane markings and traffic lights are a public disgrace. The intersection of 29th Ave and Ford St is horrendously inefficient at traffic flow, and it leaves vehicles stranded on a DRAW BRIDGE behind a ridiculously slow traffic signal. Even in moderate traffic, vehicles are backed up and the Park Street bridge, but also on the 880 over-crossing. The weird lane transition from the draw bridge to the traffic signal could have been better drawn by a grade schooler. I can't even pretend to be kind about this situation. It defies logic, planning, safety or efficient traffic flow. FAIL!

And do you have a solution or just complaints?
Before the light at Ford St, pedestrians took their life into their hands every time they tried to cross... now it's a little safer.

And how do you propose that cars turn left off 29th onto Ford St? It will be virtually impossible with the stream of cars coming from Alameda.
You do realize that all of the cars that used to go up Fruitvale Ave will now be going down Ford St so they can get to Fruitvale Ave.

Nice to hear what the folks from Alameda would like. Those of us in the neighborhood here in Oakland think it should be a little different.
Also in case you don't realize it all the traffic that used to go up Fruitvale will be coming through our neighborhood... get stop signs in while we can! That's the reason the stop light is there. If you actually lived here and cared about the 'hood you would know this.
