Description

Due to the length of the intersection, cars traveling north on route 5, even if legally going through a yellow light, don't come close to clearing the intersection by the time the light turns green for those coming off of the Merritt Trpk. It's even worse when cars go through a late yellow, or run the red. I travel this way every morning and purposely get into the right lane - of the two left turning lanes - because almost once a week I see close calls for those in the left lane. The visability is not great coming off the exit, because of the commuter lot immediately to the left. A longer delay before the off-ramp traffic gets a green light would give more time to clear the intersection.
