Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Based off the location given, 23rd Avenue and Diesel Street do not intersect. However, Kennedy Streets does intersect Diesel Street. Could you please confirm the location of where the hole is located? This information will help us better process your request. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

  The nearest cross street is Diesel Street. I often drive on this street. If I get the chance, I'll try and pull over to take a picture of the area without getting run over - people drive well above the speed limit here.

  Exiting 880 northbound you can't even go toward Alameda, so this whole report makes no sense.

  I guess there's no way to delete an issue once you've posted it. I drove back to the area in question and realized that it's actually not a pothole. And yes I had the direction wrong - meant to say 880 South. I guess this is what happens when you've worked a graveyard shift and your mind isn't functioning as well as it should be. Please disregard this issue and put it into "Closed" status. 10-22.
