This light is so horrible it is beyond words. On top of people making illegal left turns and blocking the motorists with the right of way, people run this light on yellow and block the flow of trafic. Did anyone ever think of putting a left hand turn lane here!! I hope the is a traffic engineer that is jobless over this mess.

Thank you for the message. We are double checking the signal operation to make sure it is working properly (our remote computer diagnostic check indicates it is -- we'll now confirm that with a site inspection). However, we suspect the problem here is the fact that this is very near the point where the road is reduced from a four-lane boulevard to the two-lane bridge over M-59. This is a choke point, and we suspect nothing we can do with the traffic signal will change that fact. The Michigan Department of Transportation owns the bridge over M-59 and has repeatedly been forced to postpone replacing the bridge with two bridges or a wider bridge to match the Road Commission's four-lane boulevard. It appears MDOT will be reconstructing the bridge next year, and this should help.
Again, we will check the signal to make sure it is functioning correctly.
