Yup, for sure a turning lane is needed. Either traffic ties up behind it, or folks try to 'squeeze' between the turning vehicle and the guardrail. Once a vehicle that is too wide to 'squeeze' by all traffic stops. I suspect nothing will happen here until the new elementary school is built- years from now.
Penndot should have extended the 2 westbound 322 lanes another 50 yards, and have the left lane become the left turn lane, instead of having the 2nd lane disappear right after the Croppers entrance.
Someone was asleep when the Applecross development was approved. There should have been some money set aside by the developer or builders to improve this intersection. It seems to me that those accessing Applecross are the majority of those making that left hand turn. We should not have to wait for the new school to be built to get this fixed. This should have been corrected at the time Applecross was first being built.
