We, the Residents on the south side of 71st Avenue N, between 5th and 8th Streets declare the alley behind our houses are private due to the builder who allowed access to our driveways over fifty (50) years ago. Any cordoning off the alley would limit access to our property and to limit access for Fire Department, utility and maintenance trucks in the upkeep of utilities and the mowing and cleaning the drainage ditch. The street was designed to have no access to the front of the homes. An alternative by a variance from the city to remove the curb and add a driveway is financially prohibitive for most residents.
