Thank you for reporting! Public Works has an illegal dumping team whose sole job is to respond to illegal dumping reports throughout the City. On average this team removes 1,200 pounds of trash from public property every day. We strive to respond to all reports in a timely fashion. If you see someone dumping illegally please report the incident to the Vallejo Police Department.
Hold on dumping team! This appears to be an overflowing full-sized dumpster. Who owns it? Who delivered it? Who has the legal responsibility to haul it, and its contents - away. Surely, even Vallejo's deadbeat city government has licensing rules for commercial haulers.
Thank you for reporting! Code Enforcement Officer David Sidie has an active case on the property, case reference #CE18-0264. You may visit our online tracking system, eTRAKiT, to view updates on current cases at http://web.ci.vallejo.ca.us/eTRAKiT3/ (please allow several business days for information to upload). SeeClickFix is one of the many tools available to the citizens of Vallejo to report non-emergency issues. We “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is not "Closed" per se; it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know. Thank you for using SeeClickFix!
Thank you for your comment. Since this is private property, there is due process involved and the City must first seek voluntary compliance of the violations from the property owner to fix the violation(s). This process may not yield a quick response, but we do our best to work with the property owner to get the violations corrected. Thanks again for using SeeClickFix!
I guess due process is more important than our right to public safety.. please let us know how many days the owner has to remove the junk and trash. This seems to be public property as it in the street which blocks traffic. This has been there way too long...
I believe this is a case where the condition is determined to be “imminently dangerous” and immediate action is needed to remove a substandard hazard to the occupant or neighboring properties. This home has caught fire 3x and peoole are lewving needles and feces on public walk ways
Note to Code Enforcement: Daisy Villanueva may own the burned-out house at 703 Sutter, but she doesn't own the street on which the dumpster and trash are located. Public street, so due process isn't an issue.
Thank you for your comment. Officer Sidie has received an update from the property manager stating that the dumpster will be removed from 24-48 hours. The owner is aware that a lien has been placed on the property and that the re-inspection date is 4/25/2018 (this information is also viewable via the eTRAKiT link above using the aforementioned case #CE18-0264).
