How many cars, vans, RVs with expired or missing registrations can you count on that block in a typical afternoon? How often do you see a police car drive down that block - even though they come and go regularly to their storage locker just around the corner, and their sub-station just down the street?

What ever happened to the friendly old guy in the Kushman Kart, who used to cruise around the neighborhood, tagging expired registrations, dumped and improperly parked cars, and generally making us feel safe. He was replaced with more useful neighborhood policing tools, like assault rifles, and armored cars. How safe do you feel now?

Censorship strikes again. Just don't dare suggest the Vallejo lacks decent law enforcement.

Theo missed the point again -- it's not the Police Department that controls our city -- it's the police union. Management doesn't dare get between the union and City Council.

Justine, is this not a job for Officer Gomez of the Illegal Dumping Team or Code Enforcement? There seems to be some usable evidence that might lead to a ticket or fine.....

Everything in the trailer was dumped onto sidewalk and street this morning. The trailer is gone along with the car associated with it. Can you get the license from the photo?

Thank you for reporting! Public Works has an illegal dumping team whose sole job is to respond to illegal dumping reports throughout the City. On average this team removes 1,200 pounds of trash from public property every day. We strive to respond to all reports in a timely fashion. If you see someone dumping illegally please report the incident to the Vallejo Police Department.

Sorry to say the trailer (no plates, no taillights) is back and overnight a pile of trash appeared on the sidewalk right next to it. It's between the abandoned car with four flat tires and the motor home that has been here for 2 weeks.
