Description
Red Sky bar/club in Old City has been playing EXCESSIVELY loud bass well past 2 am every Thurs-Sat. Sometimes until 5,6 am, even into Sun. There are plenty of apartments in this vicinity and I'm sure that it's against the noise ordinance. It shakes our entire building. Music is one thing but bass can't be tuned out. This never was so loud until recently. Help!

We have similar problems with Red Zone at 35 S. 2nd Street, and this is what we have been doing:
- At night, call the police at 911 and ask for officers to go to the bar and tell them to turn the music down. (You can also call the 6th district precinct Thurs-Sat morning and file a roll call complaint.) If they turn the music back up, call again. The more neighbors who call, the better.
- Keep a log of the noise disturbance times and descriptions, and file complaints with PA State Police Liquor Control enforcement. It is illegal for liquor licensees under state law to play excessively loud music. Follow this link for info: http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/hide_-_liquor_control_enforcement/5900/reporting_violations/501462
Red Sky is in the process of transferring their liquor license to a new owner, so complaints against them to the PA LCE at this time could possibly have more effect.
This bar isn't authorized to operate an after-hours club, so make sure you and your neighbors call 911 if they are still playing music after 2:00AM. I also recommend that you file complaints with L&I, describing their after-hours activity. Online complaint form: http://www.phila.gov/li/Pages/ReportaProblem.aspx
