the speed bumps are entirely too high. it scrapes the bottom of my car each time i go over it. i've seen a car get stuck trying to go over a speed bump beacuse his car was low.

I understand the need for the speed bumps here - they are to deter the massive amount of cut-throughs to get from Whalley to Amity from 15, or reverse, but these bumps are way too high and cause damage to smaller vehicles.

i really think this issue is one that you should handle with the owners of the parking lot if you think it is this dangerous. i personally have never had a problem regardless of the vehicle i use to get over them, and i use a different kind every time i go (i use zipcars). even the smart car had no problem getting over these;)
how low is your car to the ground? do you just want a speedbump-less world in general?

I agree, I have scraped bottom in a current gen, stock Toyota Camry, and I take the bumps very slowly. If the best selling car in America is scraping, then the bumps are too high.
Not all cars do scrape, so the fact that yours doesn't (my other two don't either) doesn't prove anything.

I drive a Prius and bottom-out on these pot holes every time I drive over them. I was a frequent customer of Amity Wine & Spirits prior to the speed bump installation (even being their "mayor" on Foursquare), but have stopped going due to the bumps.
I'm sure these speed bumps were purposely made this tall to discourage people using this lot as a cut-through between 63 and 69. While they seem to be successful at this, they are also hurting the businesses in the lot, as well as the customers that still risk damage to their cars to frequent those businesses.
