Charlie, thanks. The demo needs to focus on the worst of the 3 address's, 121 Charleston SE which is also the core of the drugs and abandonment. 121 is really bad. The house at 115 might be salvageable, but still needs city to board it up and etc.

That's why I gave you the e-mail addresses, so that you might ride herd on these issues on behalf of your n'hood. The squeakiest wheel gets the most grease from the City Finance Committee and that's where this is decided in the end. Your n'hood's association has not been proactive on this front since 2006. It seems time for those of you in Trumbull who wish something positive to be done in your n'hood to get organized and take over the existing n'hood association or create a new one. Again, thanks. Nuisance abatement was here today and partially red tagged 121, the worst of the 3. Said they'd be back for the others at a later date. Seems like you pushed the right buttons, Thanks! I can only ride herd on so much, can't do the neighborhood thing.

That was Joe Martinez doing the nuisance abatement. He called after to give me the low-down. Sad about the disabled mother & child that had to move to a hotel. City Family & Community Services wil help spring for it.
LMCIA is La Mesa Community Improvement Assoc.; the n'hood association north of Central to Lomas, then Louisiana to Wyoming. We're the bunch that kept CVS from selling liquor at Central & Louisiana. More work to do.

Update for house at 115 Charleston SE. Police were here today and removed two people who broke into the house (again). Owner refuses to prosecute so police had to let them go. Time for Nuisance Abatement to board up and get court order to demolish this flop house. If the owner doesn't care the neighborhood does.

We have a vacant house in our neighborhood that has been broken into multiple times by teenagers who live behind it. The cops won't arrest them ether. I find it appalling that the cops have no legal recourse and there are criminal charges that can be pressed?????? This is RIDICULOUS. It is yet another example of what makes Albuquerque what it is. Breaking and entering on private property should be a crime in and of itself regardless of whether the property owner wishes to press charges. I don't understand this lack of decency in our legal system. It is one more reason to leave this city because it is the same regardless of what neighborhood you live in.

Unless you call Joe Martinez, Safe City Strike Force directly or start posting photos in everyone's FaceBook account then, your complaints are being cast to the wind. Your well meaning and deserved complants to "The City" here are sent only to The Zoning Enforcement Div. of the Planning Dept. who have done nothing for our community since 2009 when the last of the U.S. Justice Dept. funds awarded to our communities dried up. If you haven't received a letter from the Solid Waste Dept. warning you of fewer pickups on selected dates, you will soon. This is just one of the effects on all of ABQ's older communities due to his "ABQ the PLAN" that benefits only those in the upscale ares of ABQ. Come October, if you wish to watch your neighborhood trash heap to continue growing into a mountain, you'll go to the polls and vote for R.J. Berry. If you wish for the trash heap to disappear, you'll vote for the person who was with our community and began to clean it up, Pete Dinelli.

City needs to hire clean up crews and use our tax dollars to clean up our city. It has become a trashy city, not to mention the crime. I have never seen it this bad and I have lived here for 68 years.

Lol this post is ten years old and looking back at these comments is hilarious. Albuquerque has demonstrated the most complete ineptness possible.
