Description

The first big snowfall in February left twenty feet of roadway covered in deep snow stretching out from the bottom of my driveway untouched by the snowplow. A day later, a second operator pushed a metre of ice and snow across the driveway. Three days later in response to numerous calls from residents, a large backhoe was sent to pile it up over two metres high on my lawn, crushing my ornamental lattice fence. Following the second wet snowfall at the end of the month, a snowplow pushed much of the snow from the road (a short 100 metre court)on top of the first pile leaving it almost three metres high. This pile extends 3-4 metres into the roadway and is now solid ice. The use of contract workers with little or no training is costing the city a lot of money due to repeat visits and damage payments. i suspect it will be the end of March before my lawn and shattered fence become visible again and much later before payment is made for the damage.
