Description

Between 3:45 pm and 4 pm weekdays, behind James A. Garfield school at the stop sign at the intersection of w 143rd @ Fairlawn Ave..going south.. there are drivers that stop at this stop sign with their left turn signal on and don’t budge, attempting to make left turns into the school parking lot which is full at this time. They hold back traffic in this lane that are trying to go south on 143rd with no regard to others and just sit there at the stop sign waiting instead of going straight or turning right. This is a two lane street. These drivers heading south pausing at this stop sign can easily and more safely go around the block and get in line with the other parents picking up children in the car line heading north on w 143rd instead of sitting at this traffic sign waiting for an opening into the school holding back the normal flow of traffic. I’ve seen too many near accidents of people trying to get around these ignorant drivers stopped like that and hostility and confusion. Get a patrol officer there to regulate please.
