There seems to be some confusion about the spelling. At the Lowell end there is no "a" on the sign. Our town tax bill has no "a" but many references I've seen to the street (especially in real estate listings) include the "a". Zillow shows the "a" but Google doesn't, although it accepts either spelling. I always leave it off. Of course, I've "only" been here since 1987. :-) In any case, I agree with the reporter that it should be consistent. I can imagine situations where it could cause problems.
