unsafe crosswalk - please install flashing pedestrian signs like there are on pine street
@DPW, this issue is mapped as Washington/Berry, which is not currently included in the list of approved RFB locations for North Ave. This is the approved list per the corridor study, which does not include the intersection/crosswalk this issue is about.
" Ward Street, Killarney Drive / Village Green Drive, Poirier Place, Gosse Court, and Green Acres Drive / Cayuga Court."
Thank you all for your continued interest in this intersection. This project is in our longer-term capital project list while we complete the grant-funded crosswalk additions at other locations along the North Avenue Corridor (https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/North-Avenue-Unsignalized-Crosswalks).
We recognize the importance of this issue, and its impact to you, and we will continue to balance resources to address this and other long-term projects. Please contact us again if it deteriorates further or you believe it is an imminent risk to public safety. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
Any updates on this? What sort of action would be required to trigger a redesign or have this considered as a location that needs a RFB?
I just worked outside at Scout (on the corner) for about an hour right after BHS got out and probably saw at least a dozen people almost get hit by cars not stopping for pedestrians in the crosswalk. This needs a fix ASAP.
Public status changes are not available for this issue.
