If Chesterfield County and the state have a surplus of money all of a sudden, why dont they repave some of I288 that is tore all to pieces with patches etc.

A concrete repair project has been underway on Route 288 since August (http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/richmond/route_288_repairs.asp) and we expect the contractor to finish next fall. The contractor is trying to get as much done before the winter season. Consistently cold temperatures will not allow the concrete to cure properly. As a result, the project will be on hold until the spring. In the meantime, our maintenance contractor will patch potholes as needed.

This new pavment near the crossing of Rt. 60 seems great to me. I came across it yesterday both ways and I thought very smooth. Is that the new type of material I saw in newspaper? The rest of 288 sure needs attention for sure. It is so rough and a disgrace to the Capital City of the Area.
