Registering my support for this added crosswalk as well! This is a very tough spot to cross the road and it's unrealistic to expect folks headed for Warm Springs Park to go out of their way backwards to the crosswalk at 600 North. Thanks UDOT for considering this, and I hope you will add in the crosswalk at this location.

UDOT is planning to conduct a pedestrian study in this area after July 1st. This study will provide us the information we need to see if we meet the warrants currently set by Federal Highway Administration to construct a pedestrian crossing. Thank you for interest and for posting good information.

Thanks UDOT! It might also be of interest to note that a new bar just opened at the old Club Jam location, and it’s picking up steam - I wouldn’t be surprised if this leads to a big increase in pedestrians as well. Interested to see the results of the pedestrian study. Thanks!

Hello all, I am working on the preparation of this study request, and I would like to ask if there are peak days of the week and peak times of day when there is the most pedestrian activity. I appreciate your help.

I’ve noticed more people in the evening time, between 5 pm and 10:00 pm or so. As far as the days of the week, I haven’t payed close enough attention to tell for sure.

We live on 300 West and 700 North and we really need a new pedestrian crossing because Warm Spring Park is on 800 N and we usually have to either cross on 800 N which is dangerous because the road at that point starts to turn for a bit and a lot of heavy trucks and buses pass or on 700 N and wait in the median most of the time is easier at this 700 N point because even with a stroller we can wait in the middle to cross to the park. There is a new town house complex on 750 N and a lot of families and dog owners will benefit from a new crossing to the park. About times during the day it will be used I can say early in the morning when people go jogging and whenever it is day and people go to the park, I go to the park every day usually in the mornings or late afternoon in summer when it ia not too hot. Something else to take into account is that a bus stop is right on 700 N and people cross all the time to catch the bus so it would be great to have a formal crossing on this area besidea the light on 600 N. Here is the update on 300 West projects:

Salt Lake City has to undertake a sewer rehab project along 300 west from 1000 N to North Temple during the summer 2020, so we have had to postpone the bidding of the pedestrian crossings at 400 North and 700 North until Fall of 2020. Both of these crossings will have flashing beacons and pedestrian improvements, but may not be fully completed until spring 2021. We regret the delay but due to contractor conflicts, the road being opened up, etc for the sewer improvements it was determined that doing both projects at the same time would not be wise. We appreciate your patience - these crossings will be forthcoming. Marge
